2019 - 2022 Ram 1500 eTorque StallingNewsom Law PLC is investigating a potential lawsuit based on consumer complaints of their Ram 1500 vehicles having stalling problems.
Consumer complaints indicate the engines in their RAM 1500 vehicles stall and shut off without warning while in motion. After stalling, the vehicle automatically engages the emergency brake. Some consumers report that their vehicles stall at higher interstate speeds while others report that their engines stall at low speeds while initiating a left or right turn. Engines stalling while in motion with other vehicles on the road can create a dangerous situation, leaving drivers more susceptible to crashes and injuries. In addition, when some consumers present their Ram 1500 for repair after experiencing the stalling problems, there are no codes present in the vehicle's onboard diagnostic system (OBD) that indicate any issues or that the vehicle stalled. What's even more frustrating for consumers is that many times the repairing dealerships simply state that they cannot replicate the problem, even though vehicle owners have experienced the defect multiple times. If you own or lease a 2019 - 2022 Ram 1500 and have experienced engine stalling, please contact us at 615-251-9500 or fill out the form and we'll contact you at your convenience. There are no fees or expenses unless we win! Ram 1500 Engine Stalling Complaints:Below is a sample of publicly available consumer complaints about 2019 to 2022 Ram 1500 engine stalling:
DYING" "WHILE ROLLING TO A STOPE AND TURNING (3) TIMES AND ONCE WHILE SLOWING FOR SPEED BUMPS MY 2022 DODGE REBEL 5.7l V8 HEMI WITH E-TORQUE SHUT OFF, THE EMERGENCY BRAKE APPLIED ITSELF AND IT SHIFTED ITSELF TO PARK. THIS HAPPENED WHILE TURNING ONTO A BUSY STREET WHERE A BAD ACCIDENT COULD HAVE HAPPENED BECAUSE OF IT. THERE WERE NO WARNING OR INDICATORS PRIOR TO TEH TRUCK SHUTTING OFF BY ITSELF. IT HAS BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP TWICE WITH NO FIX. I HAVE HAD IT FOR THREE WEEKS."
-12/6/21; NHTSA.GOV "DROVE THE VEHICLE ON I45 (FREEWAY) SOUTHBOUND FROM HOUSTON TX AND THE VEHICLE TURNED OFF WHILE IN MOTION. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A VERY BAD ACCIDENT DRIVING AT 60MPH AND ENGINE DYING"
-9/10/19; NHTSA.GOV "WHILE DRIVING SLOWING DOWN TO MAKE A LEFT HAND TURN COMPLETELY TURNED OFF"
-4/3/20; NHTSA.GOV "TLA* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2019 RAM 1500 CLASSIC ST QUAD CAB. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 62 MPH AND TOWING A CAMPER TRAILER, THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF WHILE SWITCHING LANES WITHOUT WARNING. AS THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF, THE VEHICLE PROCEEDED TO DRIFT TOWARDS THE RIGHT OF THE HIGHWAY AND HIT THE HIGHWAY SHOULDER. THE VEHICLE THEN FLIPPED OVER ON ITS HEAD AND THE CAMPER FLIPPED OVER ON ITS LEFT SIDE."
-8/2/20; NHTSA.GOV "WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MILES AN HOUR ON A NEIGHBORHOOD STREET THE TRUCK DISPLAYED "AUTO PARK DISABLED" AND PROCEEDED TO SHUT OFF COMPLETELY, FORCING ME TO PULL OVER AND TRY AND TURN THE TRUCK BACK ON."
-3/14/21; NHTSA.GOV "I WAS DRIVING ON I-65 IN INDIANAPOLIS, IN TRAFFIC, WHEN MY ENGINE ABRUPTLY SHUT OFF AND THE IGNITION MODE SWITCHED FROM RUN TO ACC. THIS CAUSED ME TO LOSE ALL PROPULSION POWER AND I WAS FORCED TO CROSS LANES TO GET OVER TO THE RIGHT SHOULDER. LUCKILY, I WAS STILL A MILE OR TWO FROM THE UPCOMING CONSTRUCTION ZONE, WHICH WOULD HAVE PREVENTED ME FROM BEING ABLE TO PULL OFF ONTO A SHOULDER. BECAUSE THE ENGINE HAD SHUT OFF WHILE THE TRUCK WAS MOVING, THE COMPUTER SYSTEM IS PROGRAMMED TO SHIFT THE TRANSMISSION INTO PARK, BUT BECAUSE I WAS GOING 70MPH ON THE HIGHWAY (>5MPH ACCORDING TO MY USER MANUAL), IT JUST ALERTED ME THAT MY ENGINE WAS OFF AND THAT I WAS IN ACC MODE. AFTER PARKING THE TRUCK ON THE SHOULDER WITH HAZARDS ON, I TURNED THE ENGINE OFF AND WAITED A FEW SECONDS BEFORE TRYING TO START IT AGAIN. WHEN I PRESSED THE BRAKE AND THE IGNITION BUTTON, THE TRUCK STARTED UP IMMEDIATELY, LIKE NORMAL, BUT THEN 2 SECONDS LATER IT CUT OUT AGAIN WITH THE SAME RUN-TO-ACC MODE SWITCH. THIS HAPPENED 6-7 MORE TIMES BEFORE THE TRUCK SOMEHOW STAYED ON RUN..."
-3/28/21; NHTSA.GOV "PURCHASED TRUCK ON 3/4/2021 WITH 21 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. ON 3/11/2021 WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY DOING 65MPH. IN THE CENTER OF A 3 LANE HIGHWAY WHEN THE ENGINE SHUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING AND A DASH SIGNALED A WARNING "SERVICE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL" APPEARED ON THE DASH, I MADE IT OFF THE FREEWAY WITHOUT INCIDENT AND WAS EVENTUALLY ABLE TO RESTART THE TRUCK AND TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER WHO AS OF TODAY 4/06/2021 NOT FOUND THE ISSUE THAT CAUSED THE ENGINE TO SHUT DOWN,"
-3/11/21; NHTSA.GOV "..I HAVE HAD THE ENGINE STALL WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP ONTO A ROADWAY. IT HAS OCCURRED BETWEEN 5-25 MPH APPROX WHILE PULLING FROM A STOP, OR SLOW ROLL, INTO TRAFFIC. THE SECOND OCCURRENCE WAS ON 4/13/2021, UNSURE OF THE FIRST DATE. THE VEHICLES ENGINE COMPLETELY SHUTS DOWN, I RECEIVE A MESSAGE TO APPLY MY FOOT TO THE BREAK, SHIFT TO PARK, AND THAT THE EMERGENCY BREAK IS AUTO APPLIED ONCE AT A FULL STOP..."
